Jacob Schmitt Elementary School, built in 1954is located by Ruby Hill Park and the Platte River.
Rich in diversity, nine different languages are spoken by the students in our school. Schmitt serves a diverse population by offering bilingual, sheltered English and English as a Second Language services by faculty and staff.  Schmitt is the only school in Denver to provide its fifth-graders with a four-day class trip to Mesa Verde every spring.
